Hope In Mind
WHIM is an 8 workshop course
taught by family members with adults with mental illness to other
like families. This course is also taught to mental health
professionals and can be modified to be taught in a shorter time
frame. This course covers different types of mental illnesses,
medications, coping skills, advocacy, stigma, and empathy.
This class is offered at various times
throughout the year.

Visions for
Tomorrow
VFT is a flexible
education course taught by family members with children and
adolescents with mental illness to other like family members. This
course was developed by NAMI Texas and is available nationwide.
Visions for Tomorrow addresses the needs of younger families in
dealing with children and adolescents with mental illness. Course
topics include types of mental illnesses and emotional disorders as
well as instruction on coping skills, dealing with schools, and
medication.
This class is offered at various times
throughout the year.

Consumer Education
TS
focuses on “making reintegration the goal,” which is
the curriculum motto.
Team Solutions
is a course
distributed by Eli Lilly for NAMI Texas. It is a flexible,
educational workshop that uses ten different modules addressing
medication compliance, supportive services, treatment teams,
recovery, etc. Trained and accredited NAMI Texas consumers teach
this curriculum to other mental health consumers. The class is
anywhere from 10-14 weeks long and certificates are given upon
completion.
This class is offered at various
times throughout the year.
Solutions for Wellness
has two modules that mesh mental
illness recovery with physical fitness, nutrition, and exercise.
Outdoor activities will accompany the class.
This class is offered in the
summer.
